The event is scheduled to kick off at 8:00 pm and the company has promoted a triple camera on the phone with an ultra-light mode that will apparently capture higher light images. In addition, Oppo's patented Super VOOC charging technology is available on the R17 Pro and will be available in India for the first time ever.
Most of the features of Oppo R17 Pro have already been revealed by the company on its official website. So it's only the price and launch offers, if any, that we'll be looking for for the event. In fact, the phone is already available in China at the price of 3,999 CNY (about 40,800 Rs) for the 6 GB RAM / 128 GB storage variant and CNY 4,299 (about Rs 43,900) for the 8 GB RAM storage model / 128 GB.
However, for India, the 8 GB solitaire model has been teased so far by Oppo. Furthermore, pre-orders in India have already been published on the official Oppo website. The event will be broadcast live from the Oppo Facebook page and Twitter handle starting at 8:00 pm, but no link to YouTube has yet been made available. In addition, the company has not yet announced any official online retail partners, which is a norm these days.
Other features worthy of mention of the upcoming R17 Pro include 8 GB of RAM, an in-display fingerprint sensor, Corning Gorilla 6 protection, claimed 91.1 per cent of screen-body ration and a waterdrop style notch.
Oppo R17 specifications
This is a dual-SIM (Nano) phone running ColorOS 5.2 on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. It features a full-HD 6.4-inch full HD AMOLED panel with an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 octa-core SoC, paired with an Adreno 616 GPU, 6 GB / 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of integrated storage space.
In the camera department, the Oppo R17 Pro offers a rear three-camera rear configuration with a 12-megapixel primary sensor with a variable aperture of f / 1.5-2.4 and a 20-megapixel secondary sensor coupled to an LED flash. The third sensor is a stereo 3D TOF camera. On the front, the handset is equipped with a 25-megapixel selfie camera with f / 2.0 aperture.
