The Tata Nexon becomes the first ever car from an Indian manufacturer to receive a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP.

The Tata Nexon received 16.06 points on a possible 17, the highest so far for any car produced in India.

Made in India cars are finally turning the spotlight on the world stage. It was only yesterday that we talked about the Tata Nexon which has become the first ever car from an Indian manufacturer to receive a 5-star safety rating from Global NCAP. Congratulations came from all over the world for Tata Motors, but there was a tweet that we could not ignore and that came from the president of the Mahindra group, Anand Mahindra.

The new MPV Mahindra Marazzo launched recently, has become the safest car in its class, with a 4-star crash rating in the last round of the Indian NCAP crash tests. Now it is also the second highest car of the overall score among all 32 models made in India so far tested by Global NCAP; the first of course is the Nexon.
